We see the problem all the time of failed aluminium rivets on fuel tank securing strap plates on 2002-2005 machines. I had time the other day to get some pictures of a fuel tank being removed by another technician at JetSkiHub from a Seadoo 2003 GTX.
With 60 litres of highly flammable fuel being held safely in place this job is high up on the priority list.
This procedure requires removal of the propulsion system, all electrical components, control cables and of course the engine.
This takes around a day to perform but if you like to know your SeaDoo is in top condition its a good time for us to have a good inspection of the whole machine.
The rivets we use to re-attach the plates to the hull are stainless steel (not aluminium) so will outlive the machine ensuring this job doesn't have to be done twice.
